With the demands of building a new consultancy arm for the family business balanced against the demands of an often furious toddler, sometimes I feel like I would need to be superwoman to do my best job of both during this pandemic.
A slightly more personal blog today as I would like to applaud all the other parents who continue to have children at home whilst trying to do full time jobs.
Our toddler has an immune system condition which means we have been shielding her as much as we can during lockdown. We continue to try do so now, whilst stopping her from becoming mind numbingly bored.
It is not easy and sometimes leaves me feeling like I am failing at both.
On days where I primarily focus on work, I feel bad for letting her watch Disney movies on repeat and help herself to endless snacks, sending her out into the garden so mummy can make yet another Zoom call.
On days where I primarily focus on her, I then feel like I am letting the business down by not giving it enough of my attention. I am sure in different circumstances if it were to receive 100% of my attention then it would be growing faster than it is now.
However, thanks to the patience and flexibility of my clients, the business continues to grow and hits new success milestones every week.
My clients, and my parents who are also my business partners, are the real heroes. I would like to thank them for their continued support. I will do my best to prove that their support is not unwarranted and that their patience will not go unrewarded.
